That last answer is nothing. No reading fee, no setup fee, no package, no percentage of your book.
How we treat your address
When you send this form we check three things, in order.
- That it is shaped like an address. Instant, and it catches the typo you would otherwise wait a week to discover.
- That the domain accepts mail at all. We ask the domain name system directly, while you are still on the page, so if there is a spelling mistake after the @ we can tell you now.
- That the address is actually yours. We send one message with a link. Until you click it, we treat the address as an unproven claim and send nothing else to it.
That third step is the only one that really proves anything, and it is the reason nobody can use this form to sign somebody else up for our mail.
What we do with it afterwards
We store it on our own server, in our own building. We do not sell it, rent it, share it or hand it to an advertising network. There is no tracking pixel in our email and no analytics on this page.
Ask us to delete everything we hold about you and we will, and confirm that we have.
Why there is no CAPTCHA
A commercial CAPTCHA would report every visitor to a third party. Instead your browser spends about a quarter of a second on a small puzzle our own server set — unnoticeable to you, expensive for a machine sending thousands. Nothing about you leaves this site.
